Hang on Plants

The arctic blast has sent temperatures down to -27 last night. I wonder if my zone 5 plants will survive. Is the micro climate next to the house enough for them to get by? Only spring will reveal the answer.

Let this be a lesson not to push the zones further north. I am sure glad I did not attempt to plant a dogwood tree, and that the butterfly bush is still in its pot and not outside in the ground.

Jack Frost

It has been cold and snowy here. A couple of the windows in the garage are covered in frost in the mornings. I have always marveled at the detail and splendor of the different patterns of frost.

Snow

A couple of snow storms have left a new blanket of snow on the ground. This fluffy snow also stuck to the trees and bushes. Ah the magic of winter.
